What lies ahead

It’s been almost 4 years since I came home from Ireland.  A year that changed my life.

Before I decided to go to travel, to go to Ireland, I thought that I had everything that I could ever want, here in this small circle that I called my life.  But Ireland changed that.  I did it. I stepped out of my comfort zone and into the real world.  I awoke the sleeping giant within, and honestly, I know that my life is NEVER ever going to be the same again.

But it’s hard to believe that 4 years has passed so quickly since I came home.  I basically walked back into the same company that I worked for.  Yes it was a different position, a promotion of sorts.  I gained further education,  brought my own home, brought a new car.  I made new friends and spent an unbelievable week in Vanuatu with three amazing girlfriends…I spent loads of time with my family, gained a new nephew and will become an Aunt again very soon.  I’ve witnessed loved ones get married and been there when loved ones departed us… but I think the kicker was…. I turned 30!

When I came home from Ireland I had already decided that I was going to follow my original dream to live in Canada and my plan was to be in Oz for 6 – 8 months to replenish the bank account, and then take off to Canada… but all the above happened!.

Turning 30 played a pivotal role in my ability to see my Canadian dream through.. you see.. when I first looked at the Canadian Visa requirements you only had until age 30 to be eligible for the visa and then you had to enter the country before your 31st birthday.  I think someone was smiling down on me though.  Requirement changed.. I now had until I turned 31 to apply, and I had to arrive at a Canadian port of entry within 1 year of my Letter of Induction being approved.

Canada you are in my sights.
